Teaching Colours to Little Ones in Hindi

रंग (rang), colour, is a wonderful starting point for teaching Hindi to young children, since colours are everywhere and endlessly pointable. Laal, red, peela, yellow, and neela, blue, can be practised simply by naming objects around the house together. Turning colour naming into a small game.
Pointing at a toy and asking yeh kaun sa rang hai, what colour is this, keeps a child engaged without it feeling like a formal lesson at all. Repeating colour words often, in different rooms and with different objects, helps a child absorb the vocabulary naturally.
Young learners tend to pick up colour words quickly, since the concept itself is already familiar to them. A useful extension activity is a simple colour hunt around the house or garden, asking a child to find something laal, peela or neela and name it aloud before moving to the next colour. Turning the activity into a small competition, counting how many objects of each colour a child can find, adds playful motivation without ever feeling like formal study.
